Unto us a child is born.
Unto us a son is given.
A virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means “God with us.”
And he will be given the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.
Jesus, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to held onto,
He made himself nothing, by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness and being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross.
He took up our pain and bore our suffering,
We considered Him to be punished by God, stricken by Him and afflicted.
But He was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray. Each of us has turned to his own way
There is no one righteous. Not even one. There is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks after God.
Yet in spite of this…
The Lord laid on Him the iniquity of us all, for it was the Lord’s will to crush Him. It was the Lord’s will to cause Him to suffer.
And though the Lord makes His life an offering for sin, He will see His offspring and prolong His days.
And the will of the Lord will prosper in His hand. After He has suffered, He will see the light of life and be satisfied.
For the Lord says,
“By His knowledge my righteous servant will justify many and He will bear their iniquities.
Therefore I will give Him a portion among the great and He will divide the spoils with the strong, because He poured out his life to death and was numbered with the transgressors. For He bore the sins of many and made intercession for the transgressors.
He was delivered over to death for our sins and raised to life for our justification.
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.
There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit that gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
The spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again. Rather, the spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.
And by Him we cry “Abba Father”. The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.
Now if we are children, we are heirs, heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. If indeed we share in His sufferings so that we may also share in His glory.
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
Therefore, we don’t lose heart, though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary afflictions are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
For we know that in all things God works for the good of those that love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
For we know that His plans for us are good and not evil. His plans are to give us a hope and future.
And so we can glory in our sufferings because we know that suffering produces perseverance. Perseverance character, and character hope.
And hope does not put us to shame because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels nor demons, nor the present nor the future, nor any power, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.
To us a child is born. To us a son is given. And the government will be on His shoulders. He will be called Wonderful counselor, Mighty God, everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over His Kingdom, establishing it and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and for ever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.
And not only this, but also…
At the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
For the time is coming when…
God’s dwelling place will be among the people and He will dwell with them. They will be His people and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain for the old order of things has passed away.
This is our God…
Who sent Jesus as baby in a manger, to bring us…
The Good news of great joy…
That unto us is born this day in the city of David, a Savior who is Christ the Lord and whoever believes on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved.
The good news of great peace…
For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life.
The good news of great hope…
That by his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
The good news of great love…
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son…
